DDM HID Kits... Customer
Comments... |
| I installed the DDM H11 HID 35 watts (both high and low beams) on my ‘08 1098S. In over 7000 miles in rain and some pot holed streets here in Manhattan and can say that they work flawlessly. I rode to TN for the BMW MOA last year and rode some of the great roads there in both day and night. The lights are simply super white and really light up the roadway. In fact, the lights were so bright that they cast a shadow of my riding buddy who was riding ahead of me and he freaked out and decided to ride behind me instead. He said it was like riding with the sun behind him but at night! You could see all the road signs reflected way ahead in the distance as well as the reflections of deer by the roadside. You can also see which way the road is going when in a curvy section, so no surprises. I did remove the blocker plate on my low beam for a better spread but kept the high beam plate on. Highly recommend this light upgrade specially if you ride a lot at night. Daytime visibility is also greatly enhanced (specially with both headlights on). The cagers see you and move out of your way. At night I just keep it at low beam in the city but use both out in the country. Installation was a bit problematic on the Ducati as the polarity was reversed on one headlight so after I figured this out (Ducati forum was a big help) I just reversed it. I can easily go back to stock anytime so it’s really plug and play. By the way, I mounted the ballasts under the black plastic “box” located in the mid fairing since I read of some dash malfunctions where ballasts are mounted underneath the dash. I also like their lifetime warranty! Cesar Blardony / New York, NY / 2008 Ducati 1098S |
| Thank again, Pirate, for shipping the H7s so quickly. The installation was, as you indicate on your site, idiot proof! I had a kid lined up to do the install since I was doing trip prep for AZ but after looking at the pieces and reading the old instructions, it became clear that it was very simple. Remove old bulb Drill hole in cover Put new bulb assembly and grommet through hole Plug two spades into existing BMW bulb plug Insert new bulb and secure Install cover Affix ballast and wires to frame avoiding steering dampner and suspension parts Test .. Drink beer. It took longer to get the plastic off than it did to complete the install. I was going to give the other one to my little brother but I’m going home tonight and putting one in a high beam spot and see how well lit the world can be at night.A bargain at that price my friend, and an install that can be done by the average rider. Again my thanks. Tom Jarlock / Covington, LA / 2007 BMW K1200S |
| The HID install on my RS went extremely smooth. Cut the hole, slapped it in, great lights! It's pouring here so haven't had a chance to test them on the road, but man what a difference it made in the garage. Thank again Jerry, you are the man! Leonardo Cedeno / Okinawa, Japan / BMW 1999 K1200RS |

I have thoroughly road tested the HID lights and they are superb! Perfect and more than enough brightness. Great color too. Thanks for the lights!! I think between the Flashing rear LED tailights, the light buddies, the Stebel Nautilus air horn, Piaa running lights and the HID, I'm covered for safety!!! Thanks again!!
