MV Agusta HyperLight Kit Customer Comments

Just a little follow up on the parts I purchased from you guys. About a month or two ago, I purchased the the Plate Relocator, the MV Tire Tool, and HyperLites... the HyperLites....Amazing. I love them. They are bright, easy to install.....just amazing.

This weekend I installed your Hyper lite kit on my F-4 . Keep in mind that I am not Joe Electrical when it comes to wiring. I opened all the packages, laid out all the instructions and parts , set up all the tools needed for my application. ( soldering gun , heat gun, wire strippers , needle nose pliers , wire crimpers , heat shrink tubing and additional wire rolls just in case.) I then read all the direction over a couple of times. Following the Hyper lite instructions along with your personal instructions and suggestions made the job go very well. The wiring that needed to be attached to the under side of the plastic tail section I used your wire blocks to crimp the wires together but on the frame side I soldered and heat shrunk the wires together for a cleaner look under the seat. It took me the better part of the day to complete the installation but there were no mistakes made due to the EXCELLENT INSTRUCTIONS and your personal input. The end result is a beautiful tail section look with out the blinkers sticking out and ultra bright lighting. I am very happy with the set up. Thanks for the kit and excellent Instructions,

I got the hyperlights and the plate relocater installed and done. I worked on it for about 6 hours! I need to pick up some long lengths of heat shrink tubing to finish the factory look as far as the wire runs are concerned.

All the wire wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the load equalizer. I mounted the load equalizer right in front of the ECU in the plastic tray. It sits on edge just perfect and stays out of the way. I will put some double sided foam tape on the backside of it to make it stay put. With the load equalizer mounted here however, it means 3 runs of wire need to come from the tail light area. This is what I will use long stands of heat shrink tubing to cover. I have an electronics retailer near my office that sells various sizes of heat shrink tubing in 4-5 foot lengths.

I did not run the black lead from the equalizer to the battery. I simply grounded it where the ground wire attached to one of the ECU mounting points. I don't see an issue with this and it all works fine.

I ended up not using the wiretaps. Wiretaps are too bulky to hide so I cut and soldiered the connections then used heat shrink tubing along the entire run (from the plug under the seat to the tail light) to restore the factory look. All the extra wiring fits nicely and out of sight under the ECU. I did not cut any factory wiring other than the wiring under the tail light that I spliced and soldered into. All the factory ends are intact as well and I used the proper spade connectors to re hook up the wiring to the turning indicator stock wiring.

A couple things I was going to mention. The 2005 has a license plate light. I am not sure if pre 2004's have them or not but I assume they do as you had the license plate light in your wiring diagram. You may want to modify the instructions and inform people to tape off and hide the license plate light wiring under the ecu. If you ever want to add a license plate light back in, I have sourced the perfect one from CompetitionWerkes. I use it on my Kawasaki with their fender eliminator kit.

Additionally, my two F4's did not come with a rear reflector under the license plate. The sub frame they use on the OEM rear fender/license plate holder has no provision for one. Easy fix; I neutered the relocater and removed the tang that is used to mount the rear reflector. I would have probably done this even if I had the reflector.

On my 2005, the wiring diagram you supplied was 100% dead on correct. Thanks for enclosing the triangular sheet metal to cover the hole left from the OEM rear plate hanger removal. I used some 3M weather-strip adhesive to glue it in place. The 3M adhesive is easily removed if need be by peeling it off and using some kerosene to get rid of the dried mess.

Done and it works like a dream….. god it looks good. and BTW..your color coding matches the wire colors on my bike. If it helps anybody else in the future, I did run into a minor problem during the install which was.. the splice connectors did not pierce the plastic sheath on two of the three wires that connect the flasher unit to the hot tail and brake light - even though they were shut and nipped up with pliers. I took the connectors apart – cut a small groove in the hot wires and stripped the ends of the flasher unit wires and doubled them back against themselves. Problem solved. Anyway, thanks for your help.

I was ecstatic when I received your product this past Saturday June 17, 2006. It arrived rather quickly considering it was ordered on June 14, 2006 . I followed your instructions and had a friend of mine, who is an electrician (with an electrical engineer degree), install it on my MV Agusta F4S. I believe your MV Hyper Lite setup is a thing of beauty.
